The Department of Physics is dedicated to building a strong scientific foundation for cadets aspiring to join the National Defence Academy through the UPSC examination. With the tailor curriculum Alliance to the NDA syllabus the department emphasizes on conceptual clarity, problem solving and regular practice. Experienced faculty, modern lab facilities, and a disciplined approach ensure cadets gain both- theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

The department is currently headed by Mr Prasenjit Panda, PGT, who is having a vast experience in the field of teaching physics. The faculty of Physics comprises of Mr Shailesh Kumar, PGT, Dr. G Parida, TGT, Mr Suraj Kumar Verma, TGT (Cont.) and Mr. M P Sharma, Lab Assistant.

The department has a rich and glorious history. Two of the ex faculty of this department Late Mr J L Das and Mr. D Kumar are the recipients of the prestigious “National Award”.
