There are 15 Houses with the strength of each House varying from 60 to 70 cadets. Each House is divided into two wings. Each wing is supervised by a Housemaster. Administrative arrangements of the House are supervised by Hostel Ward boys. Each House has one House Captain. The House Captain is selected from Class XII on the basis of all round performance. All meals are taken in the Central Dining Hall with House Masters and Ward Boys. An experienced Mess Manager ensures that nourishing, wholesome, and calorific fare fills young stomachs. Old students of this school come back during Founder’s Day and during Alumni Meet and attend ”At Home” and revive old memories.

The primary aim of Sainik School is to prepare Cadets academically, physically and mentally for entry into the Defence Services in the Officer Cadre and those who do not make the grade, for responsible positions in other walks of life.
