Sainik School Tilaiya Library is acting as a powerful knowledge and information resource center. This works as a hub of educational activities of this esteemed institution and being utilized as a knowledge laboratory.

The Library of Sainik School Tiliaya is one of the largest libraries in Sainik Schools with a collection of more than 18,000 books and non-book materials like CDs, DVDs, eBooks etc. It is catering informational, recreational, curriculum and competitive (UPSC, Olympiad, NTSE etc.) need of students and staff. The library is rich in its collection having variety of books such as fiction, non-fictions, biographies, UPSC NDA/NA Books, SSB guides, children books, Reference books, educational CD’s and DVD,s, eBooks etc.

School Library is automated using latest version of e-Granthalaya 4.0 a cloud ready Integrated Library Management Software developed by National Informatics Centre, Government  of  India. The books are classified as per DDC and having OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue). Library is having seating capacity of 60 users at a time. The School Library works with the aim of school to send maximum cadets to NDA.  To achieve this, it closely works with authorities and staff members to provide best possible resources and place for study and preparation to cadets. Library is subscribing numbers of magazines and newspapers to cater the need of students and staff. In addition to this students are getting sufficient number of newspapers in their respective houses (Hostel) so that they can prepare themselves and keep updated with all National and International happenings. The School Library works on the mantra of “Learn to Read” for Classes VI to VIII and “Read to Learn” for Classes IX to XII with an aim to make them lifelong self-learner and an informed citizen.
