Administration

  1. The administration of Sainik Schools is vested in the Board of Governors, Sainik Schools Society under the Chairmanship of the Union Minister of Defence. The Chief Minister/ Education Minister of the State in which the schools are located are also members of the Board of Governors.
  2. In addition, each school is administered by a Local Board of Administration which deals with the day-to-day administration of the school and ensures the implementation of general policy laid down by the Sainik Schools Society. General Officer Commanding, Madhya Bharat Area is the Chairman of the Local Board of Administration of this school.
  3. The school has a well qualified staff headed by a Defence Service Officer of the rank of Colonel or equivalent as Principal, assisted by two service officers of the rank of Lt Col or equivalent as Vice Principal and Major or equivalent as Administrative Officer respectively.

4. Board Of Governors (BOG)

The overall administration, supervision and control of the Sainik School Society vests with a body called the Board of Governors, Sainik Schools. The Board is constituted as indicated here under:

5.  Executive Committee

There is an Executive Committee under the chairmanship of Defence Secretary for close control and supervision over the affairs of Sainik Schools. The composition of the committee is as under:-

The primary aim of Sainik School is to prepare Cadets academically, physically and mentally for entry into the Defence Services in the Officer Cadre and those who do not make the grade, for responsible positions in other walks of life.
