On 01 Oct 1964 Director General NCC accorded sanction for raising of Indep Coy NCC (JD), Sainik School Tilaiya for combined training of Army, Naval and Air Wings. Indep Coy NCC (JD) Sainik School Tilaiya presently consists of 06 Troops, comprising 04 troops of Army, one troop of Navy and one troop of Air Wing. The School also has two platoons of Army Wing SD affiliated to 45 Jharkhand Bn NCC, Koderma. There are five ANOs and one CTO in Junior Divison and one ANO in Senior Division for imparting NCC Training.
The primary aim of Sainik School is to prepare boys academically, physically and mentally for entry into the Defence Services and those who do not make the grade, for responsible positions in the various other walks of life.
