Facililties
School provides a well stocked Library with Internet access and a smart class room. School has Anteroom with dish TV for entertainment in addition to an open air theatre.
A Gymnasium with adequate work stations is also available along with Anteroom.
The school has a 12 bed hospital including an Isolation ward. There is a dedicated staff of four employees including two qualified nursing assistants and two nursing attendants. Facilities for nursing of common routine ailments and accidents are available 24×7. The school ambulance transports boys during emergencies and is also used for the conveyance of boys to specialists.
A tailor shop, barber shop, cobbler shop, general store and a cafeteria is available in shopping complex along with couple of STD booths.
Cadets are permitted to use Canteen Store Department (CSD) Facilities.
SBI bank and an ATM Counter is available inside the campus.
FACILITIES
ADVENTURE ACTIVITY:
Cadets are regularly selected and sent every year for rock climbing training to HMI Darjeeling, NIM uttar kashi, MIM Manali, Adventure Traveler Academy Gridih (Jharkhand), National Adventure Institute Panchmarhi and the adventure camps organized by Sainik Schools Society. In addition various other activities like river rafting, cycling expedition and trekking are organized to instill the spirits of adventure in the cadetevery week.
GAMES & SPORTS :
Games and sports are an integral part of school curriculum to make cadets physically fit and mentally robust. Regular training is imparted in games and sports like hockey, football, basketball, volleyball, cross country and athletics. The personnel of Army Physical Training Corps and Coaches from Sports Authority of India train the cadets in various games and sports. These schools have facilities for major games like volley ball, basket ball, football, hockey and cricket. Facilities for other games like table tennis, indoor badminton, pool, etc are also available. In addition to the above, regular competitions in athletics, marathon and cross country races are also organized. Along with the outdoor games, indoor games are also given due place.
HOBBY CLUBS :
Various clubs like Literary, Computer, Eco, Dramatics, Trekking, Cycling, Swimming, Art & Craft, Nature Study, Music and Dance, Karate, Band, Internet, Aerobics, Yoga, Riding and Equestrian Club function in the school. Cadets are allowed to join any of the clubs according to their taste and interest.
NCC TRAINING :
Compulsory NCC training is imparted right from Class VI to XII where by our cadets grow to be disciplined, honest, patriotic, secular and wedded to the national cause transcending all barriers of caste, creed and language. The School has an Independent Unit of NCC Junior Wing and Senior Wing.
LABORATORIES :
The Schools has well-equipped with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, English laboratories and Computer labs with the latest machines and broadband internet facility as well as multimedia teaching rooms that integrate technology with traditional methods.
Modern teaching methods and a variety of both conventional and electronic training aids, like Over Head Projectors, Audio Video Player, VCD Players, LCD Projectors, etc are used to make teaching more interesting and effective.
LIBRARY:
The school is having well equipped library of more then 14500 books and reading resources, 30+ magazine and periodicals, computer having broadband facility, open access system, reader’s favorable opening hour, seating capacity of 60 cadets at a time, providing current awareness services etc
Library is on the process of Automation and using latest techniques and technologies to disseminate knowledge & information to their Staff and cadets.
OBSTACLE COURSE :
School has Obstacle Course, GTO Task Course as well as Individual Obstacle Course for SSB Training and to get cadets familiar with obstacles make and train them physically and mentally able to do such obstacle courses.
LANGUAGE LAB :
Sainik School Tilaiya has a wonderful language lab which helps the cadets to improve their phonetics, pronunciation, Provides better grasp over language, improve their spoken skill, spelling, etc.
RIDING CLUBS:
School has a good riding club to impart riding training to the cadets.
CSD CANTEEN :
CSD Canteen is available to every cadet of Sainik School Tilaiya to cater for daily needs of the students and Cafeteria to meet the additional needs of the students and visiting parents. School has also a small general and a stationery shop to facilitate students need.
SWIMMING POOL :
Schools has modern swimming pool where boys are trained by the PI Staff. This is one of the most important activities in NDA.
GYMNASIUM :
The school also has a well equipped gymnasium with multi gym equipments. To keep fit cadets health and body
MI ROOM:
All Sainik Schools have infirmary. A resident Medical Officer, assisted by a fully qualified Nursing Assistant attend to the ailments/medical cases of the students. Periodical Medical check up is also conducted by the Medical Officer of Jharkhand Govt. Serious ailments are referred to Medical College/General Hospital for treatment.
